What's Blooming With Your Spring Wedding Plans?

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

Spring is here, and pollen isn’t the only thing in the air. Love is in full bloom! With Spring being one of the most popular seasons for weddings, we thought it would be great to share some tips and tricks to pull off your perfect springtime wedding. Whether you are coming down to the wire or still in the long-term planning mode, WellDunn Entertainment is here to help you enjoy, and prepare for what should be the happiest day of your new life together.

Spring Cleaning - Organize your plans A lot of brides (and grooms) start to feel overwhelmed when it comes to planning a wedding. This is normal! Do not feel alone. Whether you are planning it all by yourself or have hired help, the to-do lists seem to pile up - check off one task and two more pop up. But don’t stress just yet. Some of these tasks tend to be small, and only take a minute or two of your time. So what’s the best way to handle this calmly? Prioritize! Make lists and timelines to go by. In my own experience, I [C.E. Grooms] have learned that having a visual of what needs to be done can make a WORLD of difference. There will be a million thoughts and ideas running through your mind at once, so it is important to write them down. This will help you recall the things that you may want to eliminate in your plans or focus more on other ideas in order to get it done in time. Keeping a notebook or journal is also a much tidier way to organize, rather than a thousand sticky notes stuck throughout your office, home, and purse. Just remember: weddings can be a mess, so keep it clean wherever you can! There are plenty of resources available to use via weddingwire.com and theknot.com - which include apps that can help with timelines and staying organized. We have also provided a wedding planning timeline via magnetStreet below:

Picking Pedals - This flower's good.. this flower's not.. this flower's good! Nowadays, a lot of brides have starting leaning towards DIY projects including bouquets and boutonnieres. This can seem like a fun task, until you begin to put it all together and it looks like the flower shop exploded in your hands. There are a few ways to avoid having a flower disaster. First, you want to know what you are getting yourself into. There are several websites and YouTube videos with tutorials that show step-by-step ways to make beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres. Once you feel confident that you can do this, find your flowers. This may seem simple, but there are thousands of flowers - real and artificial - in a variety of sizes and colors. If you are unsure what flowers you want to use, you can walk out of your local craft store with bags full of flowers that you end up never using. And, I’m sure most of you do not want all of your arrangements to clash with tropical flowers here and holiday flowers there. For bouquets on a budget be sure to check your local Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and JoAnn Fabrics for coupons and weekly deals to get the most for your money and even those last minutes decorating needs. Personally, I would like to also recommend Blissful Silks at etsy.com/shop/BlissfulSilks for wonderful options for artificial flowers. After you have all of the flowers and supplies you need, you are ready to get started. One mistake a lot of brides - including myself - make is waiting until the last couple of weeks to throw flower arrangements in with the rest of the DIY projects. This extra stress can be avoided by giving yourself a little bit of extra time to do the around 4 weeks before the big day, if using artificial flowers. If you are among those who would rather use fresh flowers, do not be afraid to ask for help and recruit a second hand in building your arrangements. Not only will things get done faster, but you will have someone to keep you company as you craft your beautiful designs!

Stop and smell the roses.

You are engaged, and soon you will be married. With the big day rapidly approaching, it is easy to get so wrapped up in everything that needs to be done and forget the whole reason your wedding is even happening - because you found the love of your life. Let's face it, if it wasn't for your significant other, you would not even be where you are now. So in-between all the hustle and bustle, try to take a little time and spend the day with your fiance without the distractions of wedding planning. Take a hike, go on a picnic, or just cuddle up and binge watch your favorite shows. You both deserve to relax and show each other your appreciation, so take full advantage of the warmer weather and sunshine any time you can! I promise you won't regret it.

Last, but not least, always remember that you are not alone. We cannot stress this enough. More than likely all you have talked about lately is your wedding, and that is okay. It is a big deal and your friends and family will understand that. There are also plenty of brides out there who are going through or have gone through anything and everything that you may be dealing with. So do not be afraid to reach out. Take a deep breath of fresh air, smile, and enjoy it - because, YOU GOT THIS! Hopefully these tips and tricks can help you better prepare for your upcoming nuptials - whether it's next week or next year. Be sure to keep up with our blogs in the future for more pointers, highlights, and announcements.

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!
